A peaceful and fun loving city, Barcelona is the most cosmopolitan city of Spain and it is situated on the plains that lead up to the open sea from a highland littered with wooded forests. It features one of the busiest ports in the whole of the Mediterranean and always has a few restaurants and bars open throughout the night even after the wee hours have passed on. Getting into the city is easy through either ship, flight or by road.

The city being well developed has got a good public transport system that travelers can make use of to visit the many tourists attractions scattered throughout the city. A stroll through the streets of Barcelona shall provide an image of hedonism but the people here are very hardworking and dedicated to their livelihood. Biomedical business companies and the hi-tech corporations all have one or the other large branch office here with a few even making the city their home.

The city shall occupy most of a visitor’s time and if he has any left to venture out of the city then the nearby hills of Montserrat await. Because of its proximity to the sea and its extensive port system this city has always been favored by the rulers even in the past centuries because of which the buildings and monuments here speak of the gothic and ancient architecture. A little inside the city lie the bizarre creations of the artist Antoni Gaudi whose buildings are a splendid inspiration to all those who think out of the box.
